Fabrication follows continuous vector paths. A phone screenshot, a flattened Canva export, or a logo with drop shadows looks fine on a website and fails quietly in production. Live fonts are the most common silent failure. You open the file on a machine that does not have the licensed typeface; the layout substitutes Arial or another face; letter spacing shifts; the neon path no longer matches the brand. Before you upload or attach:

  3. Confirm letter counters (holes in a, e, o) remain intact as compound shapes
  4. For touching script letters, unite overlapping shapes into continuous runs where the tube should not break

Stroke width and minimum bend radius

Multi-color logos: one layer per neon color

If you only have a PNG or phone photo

You can still start. Prepare the best raster you can: crop tight, remove background, maximize resolution, avoid heavy JPEG compression. In inquiry notes, say “PNG only — please advise on tracing.” Expect the fabricator to redraw centerlines. Auto-trace tools can help for simple silhouettes; complex logos usually need a human pen pass. Do not upscale a 200-pixel favicon and hope—there is no information to recover.

Sketches and whiteboard photos work as mood references only. Convert them to a clean black-on-transparent path before you treat the project as quote-ready.
